THE LAWMEN is Laymon's only novel outside the horror/suspense genre, so it's something of a novelty for those of us who follow his work. It reveals a different side of Laymon while keeping his signature writing style on full display. It's certainly not a Western in the vein of Louis L'Amour or Zane Grey; this is dime-store pulp fiction.
