Marshal Long isn't looking to win any popularity contests - and standing up for the Ute Indians will make him pretty unpopular in the town of Snowshoe. To the tribe of Utes imprisoned in an abandoned mine shaft, he's the only protection they've got. To the rowdy townsfolk, he's the only obstacle to an all-out vengeance spree to pay back a bloody Ute massacre.
